Joshua Minor, an upcoming eighth grader at Milton Middle School, placed sixth in the Boys 13-14 1600 Meter Run at the 2013 Hershey National Champiionship on August 03, 2013 at Hershey, Pennsylvania. Paladino running for the WV Flyers ran 4:57.92 to finish third behind senior Jaime Phelan of Laurel Creek, 4:53.89 and senior Therese Haiss of Solon, 4:54.85 at the SPIRE Scholastic HS Showcase at SPIRE Institute (GaREAT Sports Complex) in Geneva, OH.

Noah Castro, a fourth grader at Winfield Elementary School, placed ninth in the bantam boys division at the AAU National Cross Country Championships at Winthrop University / Rock Hill, SC. Castro covered the 3K course in a personal best time of 10:48.64 while the champion, Andrew Avila, set a new national record in 10:15.

At the West Virginia High School State Track Meet at Laidley Field in Charleston, WV on May 18-19, Ritchie County High School boys track team won its second Class AA title in three years.
The Berkeley Springs High School girls' track team won five events and the team title, while Frankfort’s Bria Welker turned in a 40-point performance and earned high point honors at the West Virginia High School Class AA Girls Track & Field State Championships on May 18th-19th, 2012 at Laidley Field in Charleston, WV.
Going into the West Virginia High School Track & Field State Tournament, which was held on May 18th-19th at Charleston Laidley Field, the Buckhannon-Upshur girls' track team were looking for a third straight team team championship. However, Morgantown's Coach Steve Blinco said at the beginning of the track season that he felt people were counting his team out. Blinco knew in his heart that the Mohigans would be in the hunt for the Team Championship. "We have a lot of young talent, but just don't count us out!" said Blinco.
During the 2011 West Virginia State Track Meet, then Sophomore Jacob Burcham of Cabell Midland High School, ran an impressive triple with a 1:54.01 in the 800 meter run, a 4:08.80 in the 1600 meter run, and a 9:11.29 in the 3200 meter run. He pulled off the same triple this year with an amazing 3200m record.
Fans of West Virginia High School Track & Field are still in awe of the spectacular record breaking performances at this year's State Meet in which three athletes turned in 40-point performances by winning a total of four individual events apiece. Never has a State Meet produced this many perfect scores.
