Defending West Virginia Single A State Champions Doddridge County Boys and Williamstown Girls look to defend with impressive regional performances.
WV#1 ranked Discus thrower, Christian Buckley, of Poca aided his team in winning the Region 4 AA on May 10 at Laidley Field at the University of Charleston. Buckley threw the discus 151' 1.5". His personal best is 162' 8.5" which he threw on April 19 at the Winfield Classic. Congrats to Nicholas County girls, Poca boys, Pikeview girls, Summers County boys, Bridgeport girls and boys, Oak Glen girls and Ritchie County Girls.
WV 2013 High School Boys Track and Field Rankings Dante Price of Jefferson and Jacob Burcham of Cabell Midland lead the West Virginia high school outdoor track and field rankings with each leading in three events heading into the State Championship meet being held this Friday and Saturday at Laidley Field Track on the campus of the University of Charleston. 2013 WV High School Girls Track and Field Rankings Sprinter Devyn Hosby of Washington, thrower Mackenzie Leigh of Buckhannon-Upshur, and all purpose athlete D'Andra Swiger of Doddridge County each lead in two events heading to the West Virginia State Championships being held this Friday and Saturday at Laidley Field at the University of Charleston.

Williamstown and Doddridge County were the elite of the field. Drazba, Swiger, Postlewaite and Rich set new West Virginia records
Bria Welker and Katie Jan lead the Frankfort ladies with 71 points of their team's 82 points while Ritchie County took care of business on the boys side.
The Jefferson boys’ team came into the West Virginia High School Track & Field Championships with high goals and high expectations. They did not disappoint. Jefferson brought home their fourth straight AAA championship on Saturday, defeating their game second place rival Cabell Midland 121 to 78. As in past years, Jefferson relied on depth spread across multiple disciplines to secure the victory.
The Buckhannon-Upshur girls came into the 2013 West Virginia High School Track & Field Championships as mild underdogs to an excellent Morgantown team but emerged victorious in a hard fought meet. Once again, Buck-ups superb all-around athlete Emily Godwin led the way for the Buccaneers
