Bria Welker and Katie Jan lead the Frankfort ladies with 71 points of their team's 82 points while Ritchie County took care of business on the boys side.

Usually it takes a team effort to win a state championship. However, when you have two great athletes to compete on such a high level on the same team and that dynamic duo wins 7 events, you can throw out the normal. Welker and Jan of Frankfort won every running event from the 100 meter dash to the 3200 meter run and Welker added a victory in the hurdles. Jan added a point to her totals in the 4 x400 meter relay to give them 71 points of Frankfort's 82 points.
