New State\'s Best Established Over the Weekend

Kaylyn Christopher of Preston led the charge this week with her State record breaking performance, but she had plenty of company when it came to season State's best times and marks established over the last weekend in April.

Christopher established a new All-Time State mark in the 3200m with a blazing time of 10:33.02 at the Gazette Relays. Christopher also ran this season's fastest 800m in 2:17.43. (These performances are based on what we have at WV Runners.)

In addition to the Christopher accomplishments, the Gazette Relays saw several State's season best performances. Chelsea Carrier of Buckhannon-Upshur ran the season's best 200m time with a time of 25.62. Josh Feather of Preston ran the 1600m in 4:29.46, Marquel Ali of Woodrow Wilson set the 200m in 22.24. Ben Miller of Ravenswood set the standard for the 800m with a time of 1:56.80. Ravenswood also set the 4 x 800m relay time in 8:17.86.

Preston's ladies team set the 4 x 800m relay time in 10:03.70 only to see it fall as Wheeling Central Catholic's ladies ran the 4 x 800m relay in 10:03.54 at the John Marshall Invitational.
