Dear Athletic Directors and Track Coaches:
Jefferson High School would like to invite your track teams to participate in the Jim Taylor Relays on March 26, 2011. The format involves only relay and field events, providing coaches with an excellent opportunity to emphasize team goals while giving individuals a low pressure opportunity to sharpen-up for upcoming invitationals.
In 2010, the Jim Taylor Relays hosted 11 schools from Virginia, Maryland, and West Virginia and entries will be limited to 16 teams in 2011. All schools competing in the 2011 meet will be able to enter one relay team in all running and field events. Field events are scored by tallying the heights or distances of three athletes from the same school. Team trophies will be awarded to the first place boys and girls teams and medals will be given to members of winning relays.
The JHS track is an eight-lane, all-weather rubber surface. Please register at your earliest convenience as priority will be given to the first teams to sign up for each meet. Entry fees will be $55 for schools entering either a boys or a girls team or $100 for schools entering both boys and girls teams. Checks should be made payable to "JHS Athletics."
Sanctioning will be applied for in West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, D.C., and Pennsylvania.
