Wheeling Jesuit Press Release: The Men and Women’s Track & Field teams put on quite a performance at the Bill Van Horne Invitational as the Women grabbed second place with 95 points and the Men finished fifth with 77.5 points. Emily Taylor scored 25 points for the Cardinals which included two first place (10) finishes and fourth place (5) finish. Taylor won the discus with a distance of 147’1” or 44.83m which is a NCAA DII provisional qualifying mark. She also earned top honors in the shot put at 12.26m, converted is 40’2.75”. Taylor launched the hammer for a fourth place finish while teammate, Megan Pratt, was best in the event with a throw of 45.28m or 148’7”. Emily Taylor photo courtesy of Wheeling Jesuit University Pratt recorded six additional points for the Cardinals in the shot as she finished third, and Amanda Wheeler tacked on two points in the javelin which let the Cards earn points for all throwing events. Sarah Campanelli secured the teams’ final first place finish in the 800m run. Campanelli completed the track in 2.17.11, finishing two seconds before the runner-up.
