Photo by Lance McDaniel of WVRunners Dayton McVicker, junior, from Fairmont Senior won the much anticipated West Virginia AAA 3200m run in 9:14.23 which is a WV State AAA meet record previously set by Zach Tennant of North Marion in 9:14.84 last year. US #1 3200m and 1600m Freshman Jacob Burcham of Cabell Midland ran 9:15.94. Burcham pushed most of the pace and told his coach, Chris Parsons, prior to the race he wanted to run 9:15. McVicker ran a great race and with about 900 meters to go made his move. Burcham ran a 61+ second last lap, but McVicker just pushed right by him and Burcham did not have an answer to go any faster. Brandon Doughty of Jefferson ran a 9:23.20 to place 3rd. Results are up and hopefully, some pics tonight.
