WV Wesleyan Sweeps WVIAC XC Championships Oct 26, 2008

WV Wesleyan re-claimed their stronghold on the WVIAC by winning the Men and Women Cross-Country Championship held at Wheeling, WV on Saturday, October 25, 2008. The Wesleyan men led by fresman Nathan Edwards' (27:32) 2nd place finish placed 4 men on the All-Conference team and won by a 38 point margin. Last season Edwards attended Claymont Hgh School in Uhrichsville, Ohio. Wheeling Jesuit took 2nd place with 78 points. Ryan Skotnicki of Alderson-Broaddus is the new WVIAC individual champion with a first place time of 27:25. The lady Bobcats with 41 points won by a much closer margin than the men to overcome a strong Alderson-Broaddus (48 points) performance. Junior Breana Haggerty of Wesleyan edged junior Chelsea Hanne of Alderson Broaddus by 2 seconds for the indvidual title. Haggerty ran the 6K course in 23:48 with Hanne close behind in 23:50. 2008 WVIAC XC Championship Results Pictures will be posted in the coming week.
