Britton's WV #1 Discus Throw of 181- 4 Leads Ritchie County to Win

Mark Britton of Ritchie County threw a US #28 best in the discuss with a personal best throw of 181' 4 " to lead Ritchie County to the Little Kanawha Conference track and field championships. Britton, a senior, added the shot put conference title to his resume with a winning heave of 51' 1". Britton is a two time defending state champion in the discuss. In 2009, Britton was a double state champion in the throws when he won the shot put to go with the discuss. This national caliber athlete has had a stellar career and it isn't over yet. Ritchie County beat out a stubborn St. Mary's team by a score of 129 to 116 to take the crown.

 

Wlliamstown ladies smashed the field by winning the LKC title by an 89 point victory margin  with 176 points to 2nd place finisher St. Mary's 87 points. Maggie Drazba of St. Mary's ran a WV #1 best time in the 3200m with a 11:06.87 clocking. Andrea Chidester (100m - 13.00), Madelin Gardner (200m - 27.52), Megan Steele (high jump - 5' 0"), LIn Postlewaite (pole vault - 10'  0"), and Shila Allman (shot put - 33' 6.5") were individual winners for the conference champions from Williamstown.
