Several West Virginia high school track and field athletes posted personal bests during competition the week of April 13.
Kaiden Goff (Logan) ran 11.65 in the 100 meters at the Lincoln County HS Invite on April 15, improving from his previous best of 14.17. The freshman ranks #107 in the state and #10 among freshmen, finishing third of 24 competitors. Goff also set a personal record in the shot put, throwing 30-8 to better his previous mark of 29-11.5.
Hannah Frye (Wahama) cleared 5-2 in the high jump at Roane Small Meet #2 on April 14, breaking her previous personal best of 4-8. The sophomore's mark set a school record and ranks #5 in West Virginia and #2 among sophomores. Frye won the event in a field of seven competitors and also ran 18.40 in the 100m hurdles, improving from 19.44.
Lily Stewart (Shady Spring) clocked 13.35 in the 100 meters at the Pete Culicerto Hall of Fame Invitational on April 16, bettering her previous best of 13.94 from April 2026. The sophomore ranks #63 in the state and #20 among sophomores, placing sixth of 38 runners.
Neal Bragg (Lincoln County) jumped 21-5 in the long jump at the Lincoln County HS Invite on April 15, improving from his previous mark of 18-3 set in March 2026. The senior's jump set a school record and ranks #5 in West Virginia and #2 among seniors. Bragg also cleared 5-8 in the high jump, bettering his previous best of 5-6.
Channing Wanzer (Spring Mills) ran 11.73 in the 100 meters at the Freshman Dual @ MaHS vs. SMHS on April 16, improving from 12.37 set in April 2026. The freshman ranks #127 in the state and #14 among freshmen, winning the event in a field of 12 runners.
Andrea Smith (Oak Hill) clocked 13.34 in the 100 meters at the Pete Culicerto Hall of Fame Invitational on April 16, bettering her previous time of 13.87 from April 2026. The sophomore ranks #61 in the state and #19 among sophomores, placing fifth of 38 competitors.
Jozee Proctor (Roane County) cleared 5-2 in the high jump at Roane Small Meet #2 on April 14, improving from her previous best of 5-0. The mark ranks #5 in West Virginia, and Proctor finished second of seven competitors.
