Clemson, S.C. - Marshall University's women's track team set new school records in both the 60-meter dash and the the 3,000 meter run at the Clemson Invitational Saturday.
"We had some ups and downs, but it was a pretty good day," Marshall head coach Jeff Small said. "We are looking forward to Ohio State next week and hopefully we will continue to show good improvement as we prepare for the Conference USA Championships in two weeks."
Marshall senior Marian Brooks, a native of Flat Top, W.Va., recorded a 10:11.55 3,000m to eclipse her own school record of 10:18 and finish second in the event.
Thundering Herd sophomore Carmisa Morris, a native of Greenville, S.C., established a new Marshall standard in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.68 seconds. Her performance bettered the record she set last week and shared with former Marshall standout Tara Lee (1999) of 7.74 seconds.
