The U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) named its regional award winners for the 2006 indoor season on March 9, 2006. Coaches voted in the respective Division I, Division II and Division III categories. National winners will be announced later this week.
Candace Swan of Charleston was selected as the NCAA Division II Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Year for the East Region. The Charleston senior competed in the 20-pound weight throw at the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships in Boston on March 11 and placed third with a throw of 56 feet 10 inches. Swann earned her second All-American honor in as many seasons.
Swann\'s career best throw is 60 feet 4½ inches.
