Preston High student-athlete, Whitney Workman, signed her National Letter of Intent on Wednesday, February 29th to run track and play soccer at Wheeling Jesuit University. Wheeling Jesuit is a private university located in Wheeling, WV that competes at the NCAA Division II level in athletics. Workman plans to major in Chemistry.
Workman was a member of Preston's 4 x 800 meter relay team that won a state championship in 2011. She earned second team all-state honors in cross country by finishing 14th at the 2011 State Championship. She also helped the Lady Knights finish 3rd overall as a team in 2011 and as state runners-up in 2010. On the soccer field, she led the Lady Knights to a sectional title her senior year. Workman earned all-conference honors (N.C.A.C.) during her junior (2nd team) and sophomore (1st team) seasons. She finished her career at Preston High ranked 4th all-time in goals (43) and 3rd all-time in assists (40).
