This past weekend saw some stiff high school competition from various states at West Virginia University’s indoor track facility, and many runners from the mountain state set themselves apart from the rest of the competitors.
Maggie Drazba, from St. Marys High School and running for the WV Flyers Club team ran an outstanding race in the Girls 800 Meter Dash placing first in a time of 2:25.54. She finished nearly 5 seconds in front of her nearest competitor.

Joe Kirtner finished 1st in the Boys 1600 Meter with a blazing time of 4:36.56. Rebekah Mills, competing for WV Flyers finished and impressive 1st among eight other runners in the Mixed 1 Mile Middle School Run. She ran a 6:26.

Dayton McVicker of Fairmont Senior recorded the only West Virginian MileSplit national elite with a 2nd place finish in the 800 meter run in a blazing 1:58.72! Another note worthy performance also came in the Boys 800 meter run where Jordan Brown-Stobbe finished 3rd in 2:02.76.
