Wheeling Jesuit's Dustin Hall won the 2010 WVIAC men's cross country title with an 8K time of 25:56
GLENVILLE, W.Va.)---Wheeling Jesuit placed all five scorers in the top twelve as the Cardinals cruised to the 2010 WVIAC men's cross country championship. WJU's Dustin Hall claimed individual honors with an 8K time of 25:56 to hold off West Virginia Wesleyan's Nate Edwards by seven seconds.
Wheeling Jesuit's team score of 36 outdistanced second place West Virginia Wesleyan's 59. Concord (70), Seton Hill (82), and Alderson-Broaddus (116) completed the top five.
WJU also received strong efforts from Nick Bonaventure (5th), Stewart Jones (7th), Luke Holubeck (11th), and Patrick Stanton (12th). Holubeck's time of 27:10 enabled him to post the top rookie effort and take WVIAC Freshman of the Year accolades.
Seton Hill's Jon Bogert finished third, followed by Wesleyan's Skyler McCoy in fourth. 2009 WVIAC Championship meet winner Dominic Camasso repeated on the first team All-WVIAC squad with a tenth place standing.
WVIAC Coach of the Year Ricky Moore of Wheeling Jesuit feels that his team can put together a strong effort in two weeks at the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional in Cary, North Carolina. "I think we can be a top four team if we run like we did today and maintain this kind of spread. We can be really competitive down there."
Complete results follow with the top ten finishers comprising the first team All-WVIAC squad. The 11th through 20th place runners make up the second team All-WVIAC grouping:
