Stinson, Liberty North Leads Missouri Girls at Stampede

In a girls field that was dominated mostly by Kansas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas individuals and teams, Missouri was led by Elizabeth Stinson and her Liberty North Eagles. Stinson turned in a huge PR and finished 3rd overall in 18:57. Eighty-ninth at last year's state meet as a freshman, Stinson has already put down three very solid races at her home meet, Forest Park, and now Stampede. Liberty North was the top Missouri team on the day as well, taking 4th and finishing 79 points behind 1st place Fayetteville (AR). West Plains was 8th, but were without one of their three-headed monster. Kaylee Hatley and McKenzie Bergman both finished in the Top 10 in 19:19 and 19:21, respectively, but without Mia Harris, the Zizzers #4 and #5 were both well into the 100s place-wise and thus pulled up their team score quite a bit. We will continue to monitor this development as large, travel meets are typically ran by a full varsity contingent and you rarely see a top runner being held out unless there is an injury, illness, or significant conflict. Other significant races were ran by freshman Elizabeth Henderson of Hickman, who debuted on Saturday in 19:30, Caroline Myers of St. Michael the Archangel who finished 20th in the green division in 19:40, and Jenari Lopez from Carthage who ran 19:50 for 24th. Jackson's Kennedy Bauer was also 25th in 19:51.
