West Virginia Wesleyan hosted the annual Bobcat Classic cross country meet Saturday and once again dominated, posting the top five finishers in both the men's and women's races.
On the men's side, Fairmont State took second place, followed by Ohio Valley and Glenville State. For the women, Fairmont finished second, while Glenville and Ohio Valley took third and fourth respectively.
Eric Cooper crossed the tape first in the men's race for the second consecutive year, finishing the 10K course in 31:47. He was followed by teammates Woody Snoberger (34:19), Tom Wood (34:28), Zach Williams (34:47) and Justin Coughlin (35:19).
Fairmont State's Gerod Green was the first non-Wesleyan finisher, taking sixth place in a time of 35:29. Wesleyan's Jarren Morlan (35:35), Shepherd's Jarred Matlick (35:44), Fairmont's John Thompson (36:01) and Ohio Valley's Brian Blanc (36:04) rounded out the top 10.
Erin Price blazed through the 5K women's course in 19:07, beating teammates Allison Teter (19:40), Heidi Webb (20:01), Jenna Brock (20:27) and Hanna Jo Robinson (20:30) for first place.
Fairmont's Kanae Amatatsu (20:39) was the top runner from a visiting school, followed by Bobcats Jess Barkley (20:59) and Adrienne Moretz (21:27). Fairmont's Meghan Shepherd took ninth place in 21:36, and Ohio Valley's Brittany Thomas rounded out the top 10 with a time of 21:41
