  • US#1 Julie Macedo (Charter School) smoked the course record at White Clay Creek State Park, winning with a quick time of 17:37.  The old course record was 18:16.  More to come!

 

Essex County Championships, NJ

Highlights

  • US#1 Edward Cheserek blasts another course record with a time of 14:20, to win by 44 seconds!  Millburn won the team title with 55 points.

 

Wisconsin State Championships, WI

Highlights

  • D3 Girls: US#2 Molly Seidel won the individual title with a time of 13:39.59, 41 seconds over 2nd place.  
  • D1 Girls: Alexandria Fons (Franklin) also got under 14, winning with a time of 13:56.48.  Arrowhead won the team title with a score of 56 points and a 14:50.03 average.
  • D1 Boys: Arrowhead won the team title with 71 points and a 16:09.55 team average.  Russell Sandvold led the team with a 2nd place finish in a time of 15:40.67.  Chandler Diffee (Madison La Follette) won the race with a time of 15:35.47.  
  • D2 Boys: Ryan McCoy (New Glarus Monticello) won with the 2nd fastest time of the day, a 15:38.27 clocking.  

 

Indiana State Championships, IN

Highlights

  • US#2 Futsum Zeinasellassie nabbed his third straight state title as he clocked a quick 14:48.8 to win by 44 seconds!  Second went to Mitchell Hubner, who clocked a 15:32.9 effort.
  • US#3 Carmel girls flat-out dominated, scoring just 43 points while Columbus North was 2nd with 140 points.  
  • US#15 Columbus North won quite handily over Hamilton Southeastern with 77 points to 109.  
  • Ashley Erba (Warsaw) won the girls race individually with a time of 18:05.6, and had some daylight before 2nd place Sarah Bennett came in at 18:19 to lead Carmel's rout.  

 

West Virginia State Championships, WV

Highlights

  • US#7 Jacob Burcham (Cabell Midland) got the win for his 2nd straight AAA state title with a time of 15:47.59 over Eric Graf (Jefferson) who was 2nd in 15:58.06.  Jefferson got by Cabell Midland in the team race with a close finish of 60 to 63.  
  • In the girls AAA race frosh Victoria Cooke (Morgantown) won over teammate Sydney Pineault with times of 19:02.7 to 19:09.7.  Morgantown won the team title as well with 38 points.  
  • Maggie Drazba (St. Mary's) dominated the race in the girls AA-A division setting a new course record of 18:25.4

 

Idaho State Championships, ID

Highlights

  • 5A boys: US#14 Dallin Farnsworth (Highland) won the individual title with a time of 15:40.58, winning by 38 seconds! Coer D' Alene won the team competition with a score of 47 points.  
  • 5A girls: A pair of freshmen dominated the action as Emily Hamlin (Boise) won with a time of 18:36.10, 10 seconds up on Mikayla Malaspina (Vallivue), who was 2nd in 18:46.10.  Boise won the team crown with a score of 62 points in a close victory over Coer D' Alene with 66 points.  
  • 4A boys: Freshman Elijah Armstrong (Pocatello) put together an impressive race to win with the 2nd fastest clocking of the day in 15:55.27.  Pocatello won a nailbiter over Preston with both teams scoring 75 points, coming to a 6th man tie-breaker.  
  • 4A girls: Emily Nist (Bishop Kelly) won with the fastest time of the day, a clocking of 18:34.98.  Bishop Kelly won big with 58 points after putting 3 runners in the top-6 overall.  

 

Maine State Championships, ME

Highlights

  • Class A: US#9 Abbey Leonardi (Kennebunk) won her 4th straight state title in Class A with a time of 18:27.19, the fastest time of the day!  Cheverus girls put on an impressive display, winning the team title with 41 points after placing 4 runners in the top-6 overall.  In boys action Nick Morris won in 16:46.81 to lead Scarborough to the team title with 99 points.
  • Class C: Matt McClintock (Madison) won his 3rd straight state title with a time of 15:52.97, the fastest of the day.  North Yarmouth repeated as boys champ with 74 points.  Carsyn Koch (Washburn) won her 2nd straight state title with a time of 20:17.74.  Merriconeag Waldorf won the girls team title for the second straight year with 61 points.
  • Class B: Brittany Bowman (Camden Hills) decided to save the best for last, as her state title win was also her first win of the season.  Bowman won with a time of 19:12.19.  Mount Desert Island won the girls team title with a score of 59 points.  Silas Eastman (Fryeburg Academy) won his 2nd straight title with a time of 16:14.15.  Falmouth won the boys team crown with 64 points. 

 

Colorado State Championships, CO

Highlights

  • 5A girls: US#15 Jordyn Colter (Cherry Creek) dominated the race, winning with a time of 18:24.60.  The girls 5A team race was stacked with US#10 Monarch winning their first championship with 107 points and a 19:40.07 team average.  Fort Collins finished 2nd with 177 points, US#36 Mountain Vista was 3rd with 243 points, US#39 Cherry Creek was 4th with 244 points, and US#37 Arapahoe was 5th with 259 points.
  • 5A boys: US#12 Fort Collins won a tight race with 95 points over Mountain Vista, who scored 107 points.  Tait Rutherford led the team with a 2nd place 16:07.99 time.  Kirk Webb (Monarch) won the individual title with a time of 16:03.84 clocking.
  • 3A girls: US#20 Classical Academy girls won their 9th straight team crown with a dominating 20 point finish and 19:16.67 average, the fastest average of the day.  Frosh Tabor Scholl (Middle Park) won the individual title with the fastest time of the day, an 18:37.62 clocking.  Classical Academy was led by Shelby Stableford in 2nd, 18:45.42, and Regan Mullen in 3rd, 18:56.72.

 

Region 9A Championships, GA

Highlights

  • US#4 Grace Tinkey (First Presbyterian) is back and looks good as she won her regional championship race with a time of 18:45.89, 32 seconds clear of teammate Victoria Coppage, who was 2nd in 19:17.08.  First Presbyterian won the team title with just 26 points, placing 11 runners inside the top-11 overall.  
  • First Presbyterian also won on the boys side with 28 points, putting 5 in the top-9 overall.  Gray Lindley led the way with his winning time of 16:06.97.  

 

Region 7AAAAA Championships, GA

Highlights

  • US#15 Josh Brickell (Peachtree Ridge) won the boys title with a time of 15:58.74 to advance to the state championships.  Mill Creek won a tight battle over Norcross 49 to 51 in team action.

 

Kansas State Championships, KS

Highlights

  • Boys 6A: Jacob Morgan (Washburn Rural) won the boys title with a quick 15:28.50 clocking as Kain Anderson (Lawrence) was 2nd in 15:55.10.  Shawnee Mission South won the team title with 81 points.  
  • Girls 6A: Alli Cash (Shawnee Mission West) won the girls 4k race with a time of 14:36.70, way clear of the field.  Shawnee Mission Northwest won the team title with 80 points.  

 

Iowa State Championships, IA

Coverage

Highlights

  • Boys 4A: Ben Anderson (West Des Moines Valley) ran a fantastic race to win with a 15:02 clocking!  Josh Evans (Linn-Mar) was 2nd with a great time of 15:10.  Dowling Catholic won the boys race with 70 points with a 15:39 5 runner average.  
  • Girls 4A: Dowling Catholic also got the girls title with 63 points and a 14:28 average over 4k.  Frosh Grace Gibbons led Dowling with a winning time of 14:00 over the 4k layout.  
  • Girls 1A: Frosh Rebekah Topham (Griswold) won the individual title with the fastest time of the day, a 13:59 clocking, to win by 32 seconds over the 4k layout.  
  • Boys 3A: Zach Buchheit (Pella) won the individual title with the 2nd fastest time of the day, a 15:09.86 clocking.  Pella also won the team title with 80 points. 

 

CT Class Championships, CT

Highlights

  • Class LL Boys: US#25 Connor Rog (Fairfield Prep) won the individual state title with the fastest time of the day, a 15:50 clocking.  Fairfield Prep also won the team title with 81 points.
  • Class LL Girls: Reid Watson (Glastonbury) won the title with the fastest time of the day, a 19:03 clocking.  Ridgefield won the state team crown with 83 points.

Oklahoma 4A-6A State Championships, OK

Highlights

  • Division 2A:  Luis Chavez (Beaver) won the boys 2A division 5K in 17:15 followed by Jacob Blanton (Deer Creek Lamont) in 17:18 and Dillon Plummer (Watonga) in 17:25.   In the girls 3200 race, Cheyenne Choate (Hennessey) ran a 12:11 for the win with Andi Gourd (Central Sallisaw)  finishing 2nd in 12:24 and Jaylee Mays (Balko) in 3rd with 12:35.  Beaver won the boys team title with 82 points followed by Tonkawa with 94 points.  Hennessey won the girls team title with 77 points.  Tonkawa finished 2nd with 100 points.
  • Division 3A:  Chris Lowery (Chandler) ran a 16:03 to win the boys 5K 3A race.  Jordan Masterson (Lincoln Christian) finished 2nd in 16:51 followed by Tony Aguilera (Marlow) in 16:58.  Alex Davis (Plainview) won the girls 3A 3200 race in 11:25 followed by teammate Rebekah Hickman in 12:04.  Regan Ward (Beggs) finished 3rd in 12:13.  Plainview won the boys title with 59 points over Oklahoma Bible Academy (84 pts).  Plainview won the girls title with 32 points, placing their top 4 runners in the top 8.  Marlow finished 2nd with 78 points.
  • Division 4A:  Steven Ory (Cascia hall) won the boys 4A division with a time of 16:36.19 followed by Baylor Harvey (Cleveland) in 16:51.29 and Clay Shepperson (Elgin) in 17:01.31.  It was a nailbiter In the 3200 girls race as Lindsey Gregory (Madill) narrowly edged out Aimee Rischard (Mount St. Mary) by running a 12:21.21 to Rischard's 12:22.06.  Yugoslavia Gonzalez finished 3rd in 12:38.67.    Elgin earned 69 points to win the boys team title with Metro Christian Academy finishing 2nd with 94 points.   Metro Christian Academy won the girls title with 101 points over Vinita (126 pts).
  • Division 5A:  Taler Buck (Deer Creek, Edmond) ran a 16:08.27 to win the boys 5A division title.  Jonathan Ogan (Guthrie) finished 2nd in 16:12.88 followed by teammate Walker Cross with 16:15.14.  Coweta went 1 - 2 in the 3200 race with Christi Dougherty running an 11:59.62 for the win and Shechinah Adams taking 2nd in 12:10.98.  Miranda Dent (Shawnee) finished 3rd in 12:12.65.  Deer Creek Edmond earned 37 points to win the boys title with Guthrie High taking 2nd with 81 points.   The girls title went to Coweta with 54 points.  Collinsville finished 2nd with 60 points.
  • Division 6A:  Arya Behreini (Edmond Santa Fe) won the boys 6A division with the fastest time of the day in 15:32.37.  Noah Gade (Stillwater) took 2nd in 15:44.49 followed by Chris Staub (Jenks) in 15:53.96.  Emily Helms (Mustang) won the girls 3200 meter race with a time of 11:22.83 for the fastest time of the day.  Tara Lewis (Edmon Memorial) finished 2nd in 14:43.24 with Maddie Brown (Jenks) taking 3rd in 11:46.66.  Norman High won the team title for the boys with 64 points.  Tulson Union finished 2nd with 72 points.  On the girls side, Edmond Memorial earned 49 points to win the title with Jenks High taking 2nd with 72 points.

 

Wheaton North 3A Sectional, IL

Highlights

  • US#24 Amanda Fox (Naperville Central) won easily with a time of 16:57.90 over the 3 mile layout.  Naperville North won the team title with 73 points.  
  • In boys action Joe Stewart (Metea Valley) won the title in 14:50.10 over teammate Matt Stewart in 15:04.60.  Naperville North got the team sweep, winning with 60 points.  

 

Schaumburg 3A Sectional, IL

Highlights

  • Erik Peterson (Barrington) won a duel over Pat Juras (Lake Zurich) in the boys race 14:55.20 to 14:57.10.  Palatine won the team title with 91 points and a 15:35.28 average over the 3 mile layout.  
  • Brooke Wolfe (Mt. Prospect) won the girls title with a time of 17:24 as Mt. Prospect won the team race with 67 points.  

 

Westside Classic, WA

Coverage

Highlights

  • US#13 Maddie Meyers (Northwest School) won the 1A Division race with a time of 18:09.6.  Jordan McPhee (Mt. Rainier) won the 4A girls race in 18:12.1 while Alexa Efraimson (Camas) won the 3A Division with a time of 18:09.4.  Marina Roberts won the 2A race with a time of 18:22.7.  Bellarmine Prep won the 4A girls race with 77 points in a tight race with Tahoma, who had 79 points.    
  • In boys action Korey Krotzer (Auburn Riverside) won the 4A race with a time of 15:30 while the Gig Harbor duo of Wolfgang Beck and Tristan Peloquin finished 2-3 with times of 15:58.8 and 16:07.2 respectively.  Gig Harbor boys won the 4A Division team title with just 39 points scored.  In 3A action Izaic Yorks (Lakes) won with the fastest time of the day, a swift 15:22.8 clocking.  Curtis King (Peninsula) was 2nd with the 2nd fastest time of the day in 15:55.7.    

 

5A Special District, OR

Highlights

  • Megan Fristoe and the girls of Summit HS continue to dominate in Oregon!  Fristoe scorched the course with a 17:39.6 clocking at altitude.  Summit took 6 of the top-7 places to win the team title with 16 points.  
  • Travis Neuman continues to win, clocking 15:20 to lead the Summit boys, who won the boys title with 18 points and placed 1-2-3-4-8 overall.  

 

Texas District Championships, TX

Highlights

  • 5A District 7: US#1 Southlake Carroll boys scored another big victory, winning with just 19 points.  They placed all 7 runners inside the top-9 with a 1-5 spread of 22 seconds and a 1-7 spread of 24 seconds!  Joe Sansone led the way with the individual win in a time of 15:37.72.  Teammate Matt Sullivan was 2nd in 15:41.38.  US#13 Southlake Carroll girls also won with 24 points and a 24 second 1-5 spread.  All 7 varsity runners placed in the top-11 overall.  Courtney Kriegshauser led the squad, winning with a 2 mile time of 11:31.39.  Teammate Shelby Chapin was 2nd in 11:36.33.

 

PIAA District Championships, PA

Highlights

  • District 11: Brendan Shearn (North Schuylkill) won his second straight AA title in 16:33, 30 seconds better than last year, on  a much sloppier course.  
  • District 7: North Allegheny boys upset Mt. Lebanon with an impressive pack spread of just 45 seconds, with a score of 50 to 115.  Logan Steiner led the charge, winning in 17:04 over the sloppy course.  Margo Malone won the girls AAA race to lead a 1-2-4 charge as North Hills won with just 46 points.  
  • District 1: Pennsbury girls didn't disappoint in AAA action, dominating the race with a 5-6 placing by Ann Herman and Sara Sargent to win with 69 points.  Individually, Tori Gerlach (Pennridge) broke away late and won her 2nd straight district title with a time of 17:39.  In the boys AAA race Drew Magaha (Upper Moreland) surged away with 1000 to go in the race, winding up 20 seconds clear of 2nd place with a time of 15:16.  West Chester Henderson won their 2nd straight AAA title with 89 points, using a 37 second spread to get the job done.  
  • District 12: US#20 Cardinal O'Hara won the district title over rival LaSalle 33 to 54 with a spread of 53 seconds and keeping all 5 scorers in the top-15 overall.  Tom Coyle (LaSalle) won individually with a time of 16:02.

 

New Hampshire Division Championships, NH

Highlights

  • Division 1:  Dyland Lafond (Sr., Manchester Central) won the State Championship Division 1 race in 15:59 with the fastest time of the day.  Anthony Anzivino (Sr., Pinkerton) finished 2nd in 16:08 followed by Chris Cogliano (Sr., Bishop Guertin) in 16:12.   Manchester Central claimed another win in the girls race with Elizabeth Conway (Jr.) taking the win in 18:54 followed by Mia Eisenhandler (Jr) in 19:16 and Hannah Kimball (Jr) in 19:33.  Bishop Guertin swept both the boys and girls races winning the boys race by 1 point over Londonderry (88).  In the girls race Bishop Guertin earned 62 points over Manchester Central's 91 points. 
  • Division 2:  Colton Ham (Sr., Merrimack Valley) won the boys Division 2 race with a time of 16:10.  Jack Collopy (Sr., Oyster River) finished just 2 seconds back in 16:12 followed by Thomas O'Leary (Sr., St. Thomas Aquinas) in 16:27.  The girls Division 2 title went to McKenzie Haney (Sr., Merrimack Valley) who won the race in 18:39 giving her the fastest time of the day.  Haney was followed by second place finisher Hannah Parker (Fr., Coe-Brown) with a time of 18:54 and Hannah Zeltner (Sr., Bedford) who placed 3rd in 18:58.  Oyster River won the boys race with 81 points over Souhegan's 86 points.    Coe-Brown won the girls championships with 55 points with Hanover taking second with 77 points.
  • Division 3:  Bow sophomore, Andrew Weckstein, won the Division 3 race in a virtual dead heat with Joe Smith (Jr., Moutonborough).  Both boys finished in 16:49 but Weckstein got the win.  Levi Frye (Jr., Fall Mountain) finished 3rd in 16:57.  In the girls race, Derryfield freshman Casey Hecox won in 19:45.  Second place went to Katrina Weisner (Jr., Bow) in 20:03 and Briggie Carr (So., Kearsarge) finished 3rd in 20:11.   Bow High School, led by sophomore Andrew Weckstein, won the boys race with 47 points over 2nd place Hopkinton with 71 points.   Hopkinton won the girls race with 31 points placing all 5 scoring runners in the top 10.  Derryfield finished 2nd with 67 points.

 

Rhode Island Class Championships, RI  (Some races postponed until Nov. 8th)

Vermont State XC Championships, VT

Highlights

  • Division 1:  Malcolm Plunkett (Jr., South Burlington) won the boys Divison 1 race in 16:56 for the fastest time of the day followed by Brendan Copley (Sr., Colchester) in 17:03.7 and Marc Brandmeyer (Jr., Mt. Anthony Unio) in 17:18.6.   Markie Palermo (Jr., Essex) ran a 19:15.3 for the win in the girls race followed by junior Taylor Spillane (19:29.2) and senior Adrienne Devita (20:27.9) both from Champlain Valley.  Mt. Mansfield won the boys team title with 60 points over St. Johnsbury Academy with 79 points.  Champlain Valley won the girls team title with 25 points placing all 5 scoring runners in the top 8.  Essex finished 2nd with 65 points.
  • Division 2:  Daniel Grosvenor (Jr., Montpelier) ran a 17:17.6 to win the boys division 2 race.  Stuart Guertin (Sr., Middlebury) finished 2nd in 17:57.3 followed by Charlie Hoffert (Sr., U-32 High) in 18:02.  Jaime Thomas (Jr., Harwood) won the girls race in 20:42.4 followed by 2nd place runner Laura Mears (Jr., Montpelier) in 21:07.9 and 3rd place finisher Ellie Ramsey (So., Harwood Union) in 21:16.1.  Harwood Union won both the girls and the boys team titles earning 59 points for the boys edging Woodstock Union (61 points) and 39 points for the girls.  Middlebury Union finished 2nd in the girls race with 87 points.
  • Division 3:  Thetford sophomore, Zach Chatot, won the boys Division 3 race with a time of 18:04.7 followed by John Punger (Bellows Falls Union) in 18:49.1 and Ezekiel Geffken (Jr., Rice Memorial).  Elle Purrier (Jr., Richford) won the girls Division 3 race in 19:11.9 for the fastest time of the day winning the race by 2 1/2 minutes.  Haddie Lary (So., Randolph Union) finished 2nd in 21:44.1 followed by  teammate Timnah Zimet (Jr.) in 21:53.3.  Bellows Falls Union won the team title with 44 points over Bellows Free Academy with 58 points.   Randolf Union won the girls team title with 20 points over Bellows Free Academy with 53 points.

 

Hawaii State XC Championships, HI

Coverage

Highlights

  • Boys Championship: Troy Esaki (Iolani) won the race with a time of 16:29 to win by 25 seconds over Elliot Estrada (Leilehua) who ran 16:54.5.  Leilehua won the team crown with 55 points over Maui with 63 points.  
  • Girls Championship: Dakota Grossman (Seabury) won by 20 seconds with a time of 19:27.5 over Elli Brady (Punahou), 19:47.3.  In the team race Hawaii Preparatory finished 5-6-7-8-9 to win with just 35 points over Punahou in 2nd with 50 points.
