D II Coaches Poll 10/31/2005

The WVIAC is well represented in the final regular season rankings as published by the D2 Coaches Association. The 10/31/05 rankings reveal the strength of the West Virginia colleges on the Regional scene. Alderson-Broaddus, West Virginia Wesleyan and the University of Charleston each are solidly ranked in the top 10. Due to their recent championship at the WVIAC meet in Athens, the Alderson-Broaddus men moved into the #5 spot. A-B also had their women ranked in the top 10, as the lady Battlers finished the season ranked 7th. The West Virginia Wesleyan men are ranked 7th, and the lady Bobcats moved up into 6th place regionally after defeating the A-B women by 2 points at Pipestem Park. The University of Charleston Golden Eagles were rewarded for their strong 3rd place finish at the conference meets with the coaches giving them the nod for 8th. We are looking for strong showings this weekend at Lock Haven, PA the site of the NCAA DII East Region.
