Update: Tashala Turner Has Been Found Safe In Morgantown!

Great news to share as the West Virginia University police reported late on Monday night that West Virginia high school state champion distance runner and current WVU freshmen Tashala Turner has been found in her hometown and school's city of Morgantown, West Virginia. More details hopefully to come on Turner's safe return after her near week long disappearance.

Tashala Turner, a former state champion distance runner at University High School in Morgantown, who stayed local for college as well attending and running for West Virginia University has been reported missing.

According to reports, she has not been heard or seen from since last Tuesday, November 27th. 

Turner had a decorated high school career as one of the best distance runners in the state of West Virginia while running for University High. She had high school personal bests of 4:56 for 1600 meters, 10:40 for 3200 meters, and 17:28 for 5K.

She finished 14th at the Nike Cross Southeast Regional in 2017. Turner won a state title outdoors for 3200 meters in the 2016 West Virginia State Championships and had numerous state runner-up and All-State finishes before graduating this past spring.

A big moment for Turner and her family as well as the area community in Morgantown was when she decided to stay home and sign with West Virginia University this past spring. 

Recent transactions to her accounts have been linked to Florida. Anyone with information or details on her disappearance or whereabouts should contact the police department at West Virginia University
