Jules has her name on the records for the 300-meter run, indoor and outdoor high jumps, indoor pentathlon, 60-meter hurdles, outdoor4x100 relay and outdoor 4x400 relay. Jules is a Silver Spring, Md., native but her parents are originally from Haiti. -

Schiffbauer finished the 8K course at the Indian Springs Country Club in a time of 23:42. He was 12 seconds behind Elkana Rotich of UTEP who was the individual champion. Schiffbauer earned First-Team All-Conference USA with the third-place finish.

Marshall Women Claim First at Marietta Open #2
Marietta, OH -- Marshall University ladies indoor track and field team invaded Marietta, Ohio on January 24 and captured the Marietta Open #2 held at the Dyson Baudo Recreation Center on the campus of Marietta College. The Thundering Herd Ladies won 9 different events and easily outdistanced runner-up Marietta College by a score of 215 points to 162 points. Kathleen Clark (1000m and mile) and Kristin Smith (long jump and high jump) were double winners. Delkira Maybin sprinted to the win in the 55m dash in 7.41, Rachel Coaxum hurdled the 55m hurdles in 8.50, Cara Rumburg threw the shot 39-07.00, and Molly Grove heaved the weight throw 51-10.50. The 4 x 400m relay team also took first place honors with a time of 4:18.20. West Virginia Wesleyan Men placed 2nd while the Lady Bobcats took 3rd in impressive showings. Event winners for the lady Bobcats were Daytona Maher in the 200m dash in 26.92, Brenna Hagerty completed the 25 lap 5000m run in a fast 18:13.85, and Jasmine Claggett leaped to 34-00.00 in the triple jump. Leading the way for the men were first place finishers Ricky Kump in the 400m (50.75), Nate Edwards in the 3000m (9:01.86), Dwight Holden in the 55m hurdles (8.02), and Seth Kendall in the pole vault (13-00.25). The WV Wesleyan men also won the 4 x 200m and 4 x 400m relays. Other WVIAC teams competing were Concord University, University of Charleston, Glenville State, and West Liberty State University. Concord University took both Distance Medley Relays. There were several other individual winners from the WVIAC conference. -

Travis Epling is All-ConferenceSanta Teresa, N.M. - For the third-consecutive year, the third-ranked UTEP men captured the Conference USA Cross Country Championship title, while the 16th-ranked Rice women wins their second title in the last three years Saturday at the Santa Teresa Country Club in Santa Teresa, N.M. The one-day event was hosted by UTEP at the scenic Santa Teresa Country Club Spanish Dagger course. UTEP recorded a championship record with a perfect 15 points, while the Rice women tallied 26 points for top honors.

Brooks finishes 2nd at Furman Invitational
Marian Brooks, a senior, from Marshall University and a graduate of Pikeview High School out of Princeton, WV finished 2nd at the 34th annual Furman University Cross Country Invitational held on the Furman University Golf Course in Greenville SC. Brooks covered the 5K course in 18:36 and finished behind Sarah Coghlan of the University of North Florida. The ladies finished 10th overall. The Herd Travels to UTEP for C-USA Track and Field Championship
HUNTINGTON, W.Va.- The Marshall track and field team travels to El Paso, Texas, for the Conference USA Championship on May 11-13. The meet, hosted by UTEP, marks the first time the Thundering Herd will compete since April 28 at the Penn Relays. -
Marshall Track Records 11 Season Best at the Conference USA Championships
HOUSTON- The Thundering Herd track and field team recorded 11 new season best times/distances at the Conference USA indoor track and field championship in Houston, Texas, on Friday and Saturday. Overall, Marshall finished 12th at the championship while Houston claimed the title.
