You may assume that the two top competitors at the McKinley Invitational, Horace Mann Middle’s Samuel Thomas, 14, and Winfield Middle’s Braxton McMillion, 13, would be bitter rivals. You would be wrong to think that.

    These are amazing times for 7th graders. Sub 5 minute 1600m for a 7th grader puts Thomas in an elite class. 5:11 for a 13 yr old is really fast too. Sub 11 minute 3200m for 7th graders, puts both of them on my radar!

    I am impressed.
