2012 USATF West Virginia Association Junior Olympic Cross Country Championships Saturday, November 10, 2012 • Coonskin Park Charleston, WV
The meet is open to athletes from the state of West Virginia. Athletes must enter on line via www.CoachO.com Entry fee is $10.00 The top 20 youth individuals and top three teams in each age division qualify for the AAU National Championship meet December 1, 2012 at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC AAU membership cards are required and they must be purchased on line at (aausports.org).

Senior Nick Trefz of Fairmont Senior with the 4th fastest time posted in West Virginia this year and the fasted in A-AA classification in 2012 cruised to a 12 second victory with a sub 16 minute time of 15:52.2.
Maggie Drazba Stakes Claim To Best Ever Cross country is a team sport, and Philip Barbour girls and Fairmont Senior boys took the A-AA titles. However, on this day all eyes were on an outstanding individual that is simply the best female high school distance runner ever in the state of West Virginia. Maggie Drazba, a senior, from St. Marys shattered the course record by almost 15 seconds with a blazing time on the difficult Cabell Midland 5000 meter course in Ona, West Virginia in 17:17.89.
Jacob Burcham and Amelia Paladino Set New State Marks It was a record setting day at the West Virginia AAA High School Cross Country Championships at Cabell Midland High School in Ona, West Virginia on Saturday. Running in a drizzle under gloomy skies, Morgantown girls and Cabell Midland boys teams each set new records for average team time, shattering the old marks in the process.

Jefferson’s Graf and Colbert Shatter Poor House Farm Course Records October 10, 2012 - The Jefferson boys and Musselman girls posted convincing wins on Wednesday under breezy and rapidly cooling conditions in Martinsburg, WV to win their respective league titles. Running on what may be one of the toughest courses in the state featuring two significant water crossings and steep, rocky hills, Jefferson’s Ryan Graf and Abby Colbert each shattered the existing record on the newly reconfigured Poor House Farm course by approximately a minute each.

River Hill Wins Girls’ Large School Division; Jefferson Top WV School in 7th On a beautiful day in historic Boonsboro, Maryland, Governor Thomas Johnson HS of Frederick, MD avenged an early season loss to West Virginia’s Jefferson HS by winning the Large School Boys’ division against a strong field by 68 to 77.
