  • WVWC Women, WJU Men Claim 2007 WVIAC Track & Field Championships

     WHEELING, W.VA)---West Virginia Wesleyan's women and Wheeling Jesuit's men claimed the team championships at the WVIAC Track & Field Championships. The Bobcats edged host Wheeling Jesuit 200-179 to earn the women's title, while WJU used a strong second day to control of the men's meet to outscore West Virginia Wesleyan and Concord.  (Click on the article for more and full results.)

  • WVIAC Day One Results Posted (Complete results now posted)

      Wheeling—WV.  Day One Results have been posted for the WVIAC Track and Field Championship which are underway in Wheeling. The WVIAC is the largest NCAA Division II conference with 16 members. See the article for more.

  • Rosier, Mbagwu Win WVIAC Track Multi Events

     (WHEELING, W.VA.)---Wheeling Jesuit's Aaron Rosier claimed the WVIAC men's decathlon championship for the third team, while Concord's Karachi Mbagwu won the league's women's heptathlon to open the WVIAC Track & Field Championship.

  • Jarrett Lane of VT and Narrows Remembered

      Jarrett Lane of NarrowsFamily Photo One of the athletes killed in the senseless shootings at Virginia Tech was JarrettLane of Narrows. Narrows is a small rural community near the West Virginia border. Jarrett was valedictorian of his senior class. Many remember him for his track performances.In 2002 at his Mountain Empire District outdoor track meet, Jarrett received 5 All-District designations. Jarrett was 2nd in the Triple Jump, 110m hurdles, 300m hurdles, 3rd in the high jump, and 4th in the long jump. Jarrett went on to place in the 110m hurdles at the Region D meet making him All-Region and qualifying him for the Single A State meet.
