Kaylyn Christopher of Preston High, eclipsed the WV all-time mark in the 3200m run. Christopher\'s time of 10:56.12 eclipsed the all-time mark set by Rachel Buser of Berkeley Springs (10:57.43). Though state records can only be broken at the state meet, Christopher also ran much faster than the 3A State Record of 11:06.04 (Holly Hunter of East Fairmont in 1999).

The U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) named its regional award winners for the 2006 indoor season on March 9, 2006. The NSIC is held at the New York Armory in New York, New York. 2005 AAA 1600m State Champion, Kaylen Christopher, of Preston will be competing in the 1 mile run at the Nike Indoor National Championship (NIN) held at the Prince George Sports and Learning Center in Landover Maryland..
