  • Marshall Track Records 11 Season Best at the Conference USA Championships

    HOUSTON- The Thundering Herd track and field team recorded 11 new season best times/distances at the Conference USA indoor track and field championship in Houston, Texas, on Friday and Saturday. Overall, Marshall finished 12th at the championship while Houston claimed the title.

  • Stechschulte Sets Pentathlon Field House Record at Big East Championship

    Abbie Stechschulte, a junior, led the West Virginia ladies to their 9th place finish in the Big East by claiming the most points ever in the Pentathlon at the Athletics Field House in Akron Ohio with a score of 3,972.

  • WV High School Athletes Perform Well In Kentucky

    Kaylyn Christopher of Preston, Chelsea Knotts of Ripley, Heather Saffel of Elkins, and Sam Crosby of Riverside had elite performances at the University of Kentucky High School Indoor Invitational. Christopher, a junior, finished 6th in the mile (5:12.39), and 9th in the 800m (2:22.83). Knotts, a sophomore, finished 10th in the 800m with a time of 2:22.96. Saffel, a senior, finished 8th in the mile in 5:16.51 and 12th in the 800m with a time of 2:24.19. Crosby, a senior, finished 10th in the long jump with a leap of 20-02.50 and 11th in the high jump with a jump of 6

  • Concord Records Fall at Marietta

    Four school records were broken this past weekend at Marietta College: The women\'s 4 x 400 took home first place and reset their record to 4:15.42 (Erica Farmer, Megan Farmer, Bethany Gatewood, and Karachi Mbagwu), Joey Carroll bested his long jump school record to 21\'2.75\" only to lose it to Mike Farry with a later jump of 21\'5.5\" and the victory, Megan Farmer sprinted her way into the record books with a 44.30 in the 300 meter dash, and Brook Wilson became the first Concord Female athlete to clear a height in pole vault setting her school record at 8\'.

  • West Virgina Wesleyan Dominate Marietta Alumni Open

    The West Virginia Wesleyan indoor track and field team traveled to Marietta College and came away with first place finishes for the men and women in impressive fashion. The Lady Bobcats scored 214 points and won by a 67 point margin over fellow WVIAC member Concord University which tied Marietta College for 2nd place with 147 points. The West Virginia Wesleyan men took first place with 240.5 points. Concord University placed 3rd with 131 points. Alderson Broaddus claimed 5th place with 32 points.
