Godwin Finishes 6th in Heptathlon at USATF Junior Championships

Emily Godwin a junior from Buckhannon-Upsur and the US#6 ranked high jumper (5'10") competing against college and top high school athletes finished 6th in the gruelling Heptathlon with 4,716 points at the USATF Junior Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Indiana University Stadium in Bloomington, Indiana.

Godwin took 8th in the 100m hurdles in 15.26, 4th in the high jump in 5-06.50, 8th in the shot put with a heave of 31-05.25, 9th in the 200m dash in 26.60, 7th in the long jump with a leap of 17-08.25, 10th in the javelin in 79-02, and 5th in the 800m in 2:22.85.

The talented Godwin won 4 state titles this year in the AAA division at the West Virginia Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Godwin owns the state meet records in the 100m and 300m hurdles, and has established herself as one of the finest females athletes to ever represent West Virginia.
