Swann and Blankenship are All-Americans

Candace Swann and John Paul Blankenship earn All-American designations today at the NCAA DII Indoor Track and Field Championships held at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center in Boston Massachusetts.


Candace Swann of the University of Charleston placed a solid third in the weight throw with a mark of 56-10.00. Swann was a 4 time Maryland High School State Champion for Westlake High School. Swann is also a 4 time WVIAC conference champion. Now, she is a two time indoor All-American!


Blankenship became Concord University\'s first Indoor Track and Field All-American with his 7th place finish in the shot put with a throw of 53-06.25. Coach Mike Cox said, \"John Paul got Concord\'s first Indoor All-American award today and now has two All-American designations. He is the only Concord track and field athlete to recieve All-American and he has done it in both outdoor and indoor track and field.\" Blaknenship is also a 4 time WVIAC Champion.


Coach Cox also reported that Rico Greenhowe just missed All-American by .01 seconds as he finished 9th in the 400m.
