Brynn Harshbarger, Morgantown High School junior, won the girls' individual 3200-meter run title at the South Hills Classic meet on Saturday, March 31st at Baldwin High School in Pittsburgh, PA. Her time of 11:01.19 is tops among West Virginia High School girls’ all-classes for the 2012 outdoor track & field season, and put her in a class with some of West Virginia’s all-time great female distance runners such as: Kaylyn Christopher of Preston (10:33.02), Maggie Drazba of St. Marys (10:41.20), Ari Kasprowicz of Preston (10:49.15), Rachel Buser of Berkeley Springs (10:57.43), Alex Dent of Hurricane (10:57.30), and Jessica Taylor of Fayetteville (10:59.26).

Harshbarger has run PRs this 2012 indoor & outdoor track season in the 800m, 1600m, and 3200m! Her time posted in the 1600m & 3200m has already bettered last year’s State Meet winners. This could be building up to be an exciting year for the AAA girls’ in the distance events.
