In their 3rd meeting of the year, Maggie Drazba of St. Marys with a time of 18:40 edged Sami Harris (18:47) of Charleston Catholic on Harris' home course at the Charleston Catholic Invitational.

The race for the West Virginia A-AA State Championship title is now practically a dead heat between the two best girl distance runners in the state. Harris has the best 5K time in West Virginia and defeated Drazba at the Chick-Fil-A Invitational in Mineral Wells back on September 10 with her WV# 1 time of 18:25. However, Drazba was only 9 seconds back. This time it was Harris losing to Drazba by 7 seconds.

On September 3 at their first head to head meeting at the Geico Classic held at Cabell Midland High School in Ona, Drazba beat Harris by 15seconds. So, an average of 11 seconds has separated the two fierce competitors.

Each has their sights set on a WV State championship and in order to win it may take a record breaking day to claim the title. This is a must watch race for every cross country fan.
