Greenbrier East and Woodrow Wilson Region Champs

 

 

The Greenbrier East ladies with only one individual winner took the Region III AAA title with 112 points to 2nd place Nicholas County's 100 points.The boys from Woodrow Wilson high school in Beckley won a tighly contested race with 122 points. Two points separated the next three teams. George Washington boys claimed 2nd place with 108 points and Greenbrier East and South Charleston tied for 3rd place with 106 points.

 

Isabelle Rogner was the lone winner for Greenbrier East winning the pole vault with a height of  8' 6".

 

Leading the 2nd place team from Nicholas County was double Region III champion and junior Morgan Kesecker with wins in the 1600m (5:40.09) and 3200m (12:33.31).

 

Alexander Allen of Capital was the region's lone triple winner with wins in the long jump (16' 4"), 100m dash (12.92) and 200m dash (27.63). Teammate and fellow junior Tanija Spencer won both hurdle events. She claimed the 100m hurdles in 16.21 and the 300m hurdles in 48.46.

 

There was a double winner on the boy's side with Jordan Coats, a senior, from South Charleston taking the 200m and 400m dashes with times of 22.33 and 50.41 respectfully.

 

Earning Milesplit National Silver Standards with wins and also from South Charleston were Josh Coats in the 110m high hurdles in 14.44 and Emerson Cagnon in the discus with 150' 3".
