OCIAA Championships, NY - Girls Meet Story by Chris Hunt | Boys Meet Story by Chris Hunt | US#1 Aisling Cuffe, Cornwall, continues to prove that she is at the top of her game by crushing the Bear Mountain course record with a 5k time of 16:27.56, taking down Aislinn Ryann's 16:35.4 mark from 2004.  Monroe-Woodbury won the girls race with 61 points.  In the boys race Martin Hehir, Washingtonville, came real close to a sub-15 clocking with a winning time of 15:02.14.  Warwick Valley boys won the team title with 4 in the top-10 to score 23 points.  

 

 

 

 

CNYCL Championships, NY - Fayetteville-Manlius girls rolled to a 16 point victory over Cicero-North Syracuse in the girls varsity race, taking the top-4 spots and 6 of the top-8.  They were led by US# Jillian Fanning, 17:04.8.  The team posted a 17:44.6 average for 5k!  On the boys side Fayetteville also won with 27 points and a 16:16.5 average.  They put 4 in the top-6 and 8 in the top-13.  Shaun Thompson, Baldwinsville, took individual honors with a time of 15:37.4.   

 

 

Apache XC Invite , CA - Arcadia CA stunned by recording the fastest 3 Mile team average in US history with a 14:28.8 team average after recording a top-5 time of 72:23, and scoring 15 points, in the Division 1 race at Arcadia, CA.  Ammar Moussa and Sergio Gonzalez ran times of 14:13 and 14:23 followed by Allen Leung, 14:32, Eric Garibay, 14:37 and Ryan Vargas, 14:38!!  According to XCNation's Aron Taylor the time would eclipse the 14:31.4 team average set by York at the Illinois State meet in 1999 let by Donald Sage, an average believed to have been the fastest until today.  In the girls Division 1 race Catrina McAlister, Arcadia, won individually with a time of 16:25 over Jessica Hilton, Great Oak.  Great Oak won the overall title with 32 points and a time of 86:47.  

 

 

 

Indiana State ChampionshipsIN - US#1 Futsum Zeinasellassie (North Central) tore it up at the State Championships finishing the race in 15:16.6 over 2nd place Jason Christ's (Franklin Central) 15:31.5 and Bradley Hess's (Carroll Fort Wayne) 15:31.6.  Chris Walden (Carmel) finished 4th in 15:32.3.  Waverly Neer (Culver Academies) won the girls State Title clocking 18:17.5 less than a second over 2nd place Nicole Lucas (Bloomington South) who finished in 18:18.2.  Columbus North rolled to victory in the boys event with 94 points placing runners in 6th, 11th, 12th, 31st and 34th. The Carmel girls won the Team Title with 73 points placing runners in 3rd, 8th, 16th, 19th and 27th.  Columbus North finished 2nd with 118 points.

 

 

 

Ohio Regional Champs, OH - Regions 2, 6, &10: US#8 Michael Brajdic, Bay, won the Division II race with the fastest time of the day, a quick 14:57.74, which was 29 seconds clear of any competitor.  Medina won the team title with 64 points.  In the girls Division I race US#17 Hannah Neczypor, North Royalton, similarly destroyed the competition, winning with a time of 17:37.76.  Magnificat won the girls title with 58 points.  Regions 4, 8, & 12: In the Division I boys race US#16 Zach Wills, Mason, won big with a time of 15:15.8 while La Salle won the team title with 56 points.  Michelle Thomas, Glen Este, won the girls race with a time of 17:59.9 to win by 30 seconds.  Mason took the team title with 89 points.  

 

 

 

Michigan Regional Champs, MI - MHSAA Regional 1-1: US#15 Gabrielle Anzalone, Grand Blanc, won the girls race with a swift 17:49.9 to win by just under a minute.  In the boys race Omar Kaddurah, Grand Blanc, won with a time of 15:37.3.  MHSAA Regional 9-1: 2009 Foot Locker finalist Shannon Osika scored an impressive victory over Brook Handler in the girls race with times of 17:23 to 17:38.  In the boys race Scott Albaugh won with a time of 15:40.  MHSAA Regional 7-1: Sophomore Erin Finn blasted a 17:38.80 to smoke everybody by 91 seconds!  MHSAA Regional 8-1: Hannah Meier, Grosse Point South, won the girls race with a time of 17:58.2.  MHSAA Regional 12-2: Alex Standiford won the boys race by 30 seconds with a time of 15:40.  Rachele Schulist won the girls race with a time of 18:17.  MHSAA Regional 5-1: In the boys race Taylor Neely battled with Joseph Porcari, winning a close one 15:58.7 to 15:59.2.  Megan McPherson won the girls race in 18:21.3.  MHSAA Regional 25-3: Caleb Rhynard put distance on everybody to win the boys race with a time of 15:34.  MHSAA Regional 14-2: Allyson Winchester won the girls race by nearly a minute with a time of 18:21.2.  MHSAA Regional 31-4: Frosh Kirsten Olling won impressively in the girls race with a time of 17:53.9 to take the race by 33 seconds.  MHSAA Regional 27-3: Ben Sievert and Dylan Creger battled in this one with the former winning 15:52 to 15:54.                

 

 

 

Niles West 3A Sectional, IL - US#21 Jack Driggs, York, cruised to the individual title with a time of 14:53.42 to lead York to the victory over New Trier, 57 to 62.  Courtney Ackerman, New Trier, won the girls race in 17:26.69 to lead New Trier to victory with 51 points.  

 

 

 

Rhode Island State Class ChampionshipsRI - US#13 Robert Allen, Cranston West, (Photo, below, by Rick McCulloch) won the Class A title with a time of 15:48.98 to hold off Bishop Hendricken senior Ryan Meehan, who finished in 15:50.6.  Molly Keating, La Salle Academy, clocked an 18:33.74 for the Class A title over North Kingstown soph Aisha McAdams, who finished 2nd in 18:59.74. Washington Regionals, WA - Big 9/GSL 3A: Anthony Armstrong, Kamaikan, (Photo, below in red) blasted a 14:47.2 to set a course record and nip Nathan Weitz, Shadle Park, (Photo, below in yellow) who ran 14:47.6.  North Central won the team title with 37 points.  Big 9/GSL 4A: US#15 Andrew Gardner, Mead, smoked a 14:44 to break the minutes old course record of Armstrong and was followed closely by US#17 Kenji Bierig, Lewis & Clark, who ran 14:45!  In the team race Eisenhower got past Lewis & Clark on a 6th runner tiebreaker as both teams scored 57 points!  

 

 

West Side Classic, WA  Maddie Meyers (Jr., Northwest School) won the 1A division with the fastest time of the day for the 5K race.  Meyers time of 17:54.2 was more than a minute faster than 2nd place.  Marina Roberts (Jr., King) had the second fastest time of the day after winning the 2A division in 18:04.6.  Korey Krotzer (Jr., Auburn Riverside) won the boys 4A division with the fastest time of the day in 15:27.8.   Tyler King (Sr, Coup) had the 2nd fastest time of the day clocking 15:43.3 for the win in the 1A division.

 

 

 

Colorado State ChampionshipsCO - Comprehensive Meet Preview Here | Fort Collins (photo below left), Cheyenne Mountain and The Classical Academy  (photo below middle) all swept team titles in their divisions.  The Fort Collins sweep was the first time since 1989.  In the 5A race US#18 Kelsey Lakowske (Photo below, by Alan Versaw) took down US#4 Eleanor Fulton as she continues to regain her pre-injury form.  William Kincaid won the boys 5A race.  

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Idaho State Championships, ID - 5A: Kinsey Gomez, Coeur D' Alene, won her 2nd title in 3 years with a time of 19:01.92, the fastest on the day.  Mountain View won the team title with 44 points.  In the boys race Dallin Farnsworth, Highland-poc, won with a 16:19.72 while Eagle won the team title with 80 points.  4A: Emily Nist, Bishop Kelly, was upset in the girls race by McKenzie Chojnacky, Jerome, 19:19.74 to 19:36.50.  Preston also pulled an upset, beating Bishop Kelly in the team race 83-90.  

 

 

NIAA Region XC Championships, NV   Southern 4A Regionals  In the boys Sunrise race Carl Greene (Sr., Foothill) won in 16:32 ahead of second place Colin Smith (Del Sol) in 16:37.  Foothill won the team title with 53 points over Coronado with 64 points.  In the Sunset race junior Nick Hartle (Centennial) won in 16:05 leading the Centennial to the team title with 39 points.  Senior Alyss Rapovy (Green Valley) won the girls Sunrise race in 19:51. Coronado won the team title with 34 points over Green Valley with 46 points.  In the girls Sunset race freshman Katie Gorczyca (Palo Verde) won in 19:42 leading her team to a first place finish.  4A Regionals Bryan Jordan (Sr., Galena) won for the boys with Alex Drozdoff (Fr., Carson) winning for the girls.  3A Regionals  Aaron Leyva (Jr., Elko) won the boys race and Mary Jo Wright (Jr., Elko) won for the girls.  2A Regional  Becky Grabow (Jr., Sierra Lutheran) finished first for the girls and Nathanlael Willliams (Jr., Sierra Lutheran) won for the boys.

 

 

Kansas State Championships, KS - 1A-4A | 5A/6A | 6A: Shawnee Mission Northwest blew the doors off this one with 35 points and a 16:17.14 team average.  Jacob Morgan, Washburn Rural, rolled to the individual win with a time of 15:35.40.  Olathe East won a 6th runner tiebreaker over Shawnee Mission West with both teams scoring 85 points.  Amber Eichkorn, Wichita-North, won the individual title with a 4k time of 14:52.  5A: Wichita-Carroll won the boys team title with 50 points, led by David Thor who won in 16:15.90.  Wichita-Carroll girls also won with 44 points while Morgan Wedekind, Valley Center, won the individual title with a 4k time of 15:09.60. 

 

 

 

 

Wisconsin State ChampionshipsWI - US#8 Molly Seidel won the Division 3 girls title with a time of 13:44.32 to win by over a minute.  Dan Schubert, Appleton East, won the boys Division 1 race with a time of 15:53.71.  Arrowhead won a tight team battle with Marquette, 82 to 83.  

 

 

 

Connecticut State Divisional ChampionshipsCT - In Division LL US#24 Lindsay Crevoiserat blasted to the front with an impressive 18:22 clocking as her Glastonbury team won with 68 points.  Jackie Nicholas won her 3rd straight Division M title, running a time of 18:31 for the win.  Connor Rog, Fairfield Prep, won the boys LL title with the only sub-16 clocking, a time of 15:58.  Amity won the team title over Xavier, 96 to 107.  

 

 

 

Iowa State ChampionshipsIA - Comprehensive Meet Preview Here | Shelby Houlihan takes over US#1 for 4k with her impressive 4A victory in 13:40.  Dowling Catholic took the 4A team crown impressively with 60 points and a 14:38 4k team average.  Cedar Rapids Prairie won the 4A boys team title with 65 points and a 15:55 team average.  Kevin Lewis, Ottumwa, won the 4A individual title with the fastest time of the meet, a 15:20 clocking.

 

 

 

Maine State Championships, ME - Class A | Class B | Class C | Comprehensive Meet Preview Here | US#11 Abbey Leonardi (Photo below, in blue) rolled to her 3rd straight state title with a time of 17:50 to defeat Emily Durgin, 18:04!  Cheverus girls won the team title for Class A behind her strong runner-up performance.  Scarborough boys won the Class A title with ease.  Matthew McClintock was the fastest boy out of the Class C race with a time of 16:01. 

 

 

 

West Virginia State ChampionshipsWV Live Results Here | US#24 Jacob Burcham, Cabell Midland, (Photo below, in red, by Lance McDaniel) steamrolled the competition in the boys AAA race, running a state record time of 15:12.16 over Cody Pelliccioni, Morgantown, 15:19.75,  (Photo below, in white, by Lance McDaniel) who was also under the record.  Cabell Midland also took the team title with an impressive 35 points.  Sarah McCauley  (Photo below, by Lance McDanielwas the fastest girl on the day out of the AA-A girls race with a time of 18:32.94.  University won the girls AAA team crown with 51 points.  

 

 


 

 

 

New Hampshire State Divisional ChampionshipsNH - Chloe Maleski , Keene, recorded the fastest time of the day out of Division 1 with a time of 18:02.  Manchester Central won the team title with 72 points.  Jeff LaCoste, Bishop Guertin, won the boys Division 1 title with a 15:31, the fastest time of the day.  Manchester Central won the team title with 92 points over Pinkerton, 96 points.  In Division 2 Oyster River won big in the team race with 52 points.  Jack Collopy and Gubby Noronha were 1-2 for Oyster River with times of 16:07 and 16:20.      

 

 

 

Oklahoma State ChampionshipsOK - 4A-6A action this weekend  6A: In the boys race Tanner Satterthwaite, Norman, won overall with a time of 16:00.78 while Tulsa Union took team honors with 107 points.  In the girls race Jenks won a tight team battle over Edmond Memorial, 92 to 94.  Noemi Hernandez, Westmoore, won the individual title with a 2 mile time of 11:26.90.  5A: Taler Buck, Deer Creek, won the boys race with a time of 16:14.43 while Guthrie took down Deer Creek in the team race 53 to 57.    4A:  David Annett, Metro Christ, won the boys race with a 16:34.88 and Kelsey McKee, also from Metro Christ, won the 2 mile race in 12:02.30.

 

 

 

Vermont State ChampionshipsVT - Division 1: Champlain Valley girls won their 7th title in the last 8 years, an impressive streak!  This year's squad scored just 28 points to defeat Essex, 55 points, by putting 4 in the top-6 overall.  Individually, Markie Palermo, Essex, won with a time of 19:58.  Mt. Mansfield Union won a tight boys battle over St. Johnsbury Academy, 59 to 61.  Brandan Copley, Colchester, won the individual title with a time of 17:26. 

 

 

 

Essex County Champs, NJ - Edward Cheserek Interview | Jeramy Elkhaim Interview | Boys Race Video | Girls Race Video | US#11 Edward Cheserek, St. Benedict's, blasted an unreal 14:42 5k to defeat US#9 Jeramy Elkhaim, Livingston, who ran a 14:55 for 2nd!  In the girls race frosh Amanda Corbosiero, Mount Saint Dominic, crushed the course record with a time of 17:54 to defeat the field by nearly 90 seconds!  More coming!

 

 

 

Shore Coaches Championships, NJ - Boys Race Video | Girls Race Video | Molly McNamara, Red Bank Catholic, won with a new course record time of 17:13 for 5k while Mike Mazzacarro, CBA, set a course record of 15:01 to win the boys 5k.  

 

 

 

Mercer County Champs, NJ - Jim Rosa, West Windsor Plainsboro North, cruised to the win with a time of 15:41.95.  Caroline Kellner, West Windsor Plainsboro South, won the girls race by close to a minute with a time of 17:56.91.

 

 

 

AZ Division 3 Section 2 Champs, AZ - US#14 Billy Orman, Tuba City, blasted a 15:10 5k at altitude to win by 37 seconds! Rolonda Jumbo, Chinle, won for the girls in 18:53.9.  Recap of all sectional races across the state

 

 

 

Hawaii State ChampionshipsHI -  Full Coverage Here | Frosh Dakota Grossman, Seabury, won the girls title with a time of 19:25.5 while Punahou won their 6th straight title.  Margarito Martinez, Leilehua, won the his 2nd straight boys title with a time of 15:56.6 while Kamehameha-Kapalama also won their 2nd straight team title with 46 points.

PA District Champs, PA - Complete district coverage here | District 6 - Photos | Angel Piccirillo, a Homer Center junior, blasted a 17:56 for a convincing AA class victory and was only 17 seconds off the course record set by Foot Locker finalist Carly Seymour in 2007.  Wade Endress, Altoona, won the AAA boys race with a time of 15:37 to lead Altoona to the team victory with 21 points.  District 1 - Tori Gerlach Interview | Chris Campbell Interview | Photos: Gallery 1 | Gallery 2 | Tori Gerlach, Pennridge, took down some top-ranked PA athletes to win her first AAA crown with a time of 17:45, the fastest time in PA so far this year.  Pennsbury girls won the team title with 102 points.  Chris Campbell, Council Rock North, won the AAA boys race with a time of 15:16 while PA#1 West Chester Henderson dominated with 73 points.  

 

 

 

TX District Champs, TX - District 9-5A: Meron Fessahaie, Richardson Lake Highlands, blasted a 14:34.24 3-mile to win by a minute in the boys race.  District 17-5A: Craig Nowak won the boys race in 15:33.38 to lead CY Woods to the team title with 50 points.  District 16-5A: Mark Pinales, Stony Point, won the boys race with a time of 16:03.01 while Georgetown dominated the team race with 22 points.  District 7-5A - Southlake Carroll won the boys team title with 45 points (putting 7 runners in the top-14) while Justin Paul, Keller Central, won the individual title with a time of 15:28.47.  Southlake Carroll also won the girls race with 38 points.  District 14-5A - Kingwood and The Woodlands boys both had 5 runners in the top-11, but Kingwood had 5 in before The Woodlands 2nd man to win 24 to 41.  Brian Gohlke, College Park, won the individual title with a time of 15:29.70.  College Park girls narrowly defeated The Woodlands 38 to 42 Katherine Jensen, College Park, won the individual title with a 2 mile time of 11:21.56.
