POLL: Vote On The MileSplit LA Girls Performer Of The Week!

SCOTLANDVILLE'S SADE GRAY (MIDDLE) SPRINTS HER WAY TO A 2023 LHSAA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP

Here are the finalists for MileSplit LA Girls' Performer Of The Week. Congratulations to all of the finalists. The winner of this poll will move on to compete for MileSplit LA Girls Outdoor Athlete Of The Year. This poll will close on Saturday at 9pm.

SCARLETT PETTICREW (LAFAYETTE)- The sophomore has season best of 12-1 at the Tabasco Relays last month. That puts her at No. 4 in Louisiana. She won the District 3-5A championship with a jump of 11-9. She is tied with several jumpers at No. 13 in the nation in the sophomore class.

DILLON LANDRY (ST. JOSEPH'S)-Ran a time of 11.95 at the District 4-5A Meet. That was good enough for second place. She is ranked No. 5 in Louisiana. She is the No. 2 ranked junior in the state. 

SADE GRAY (SCOTLANDVILLE)- Won both the 100m (11.68) and 200m (24.01) in her final district meet. She has a season best of a wind aided 11.51 at the Texas Relays. She also runs on both of Scotlandville's sprint relay teams, which have the best times in the state.  

KALI MAGANA (LOUISE S. MCGEHEE)- Won the 100m (12.61), 200m (25.46), and 400m (57.30) at the District 10-1A Meet. Her season best time of 55.70 in the 400m ranks No. 4 in the state. 

NATALIE VENKATARAMAN (BATON ROUGE HIGH)- Ran a personal record 5:11.80 in the 1600m at the District 4-5A Meet. That time puts her at No. 2 in Louisiana. She finished second in the 800m with a 2:19.06. Her season best of 2:15.33 ranks No. 2 in the state. 

SPENCER FRIERSON (C.E. BYRD)- Ran a 5:15:55 in the 1600m at the District 1-5A Meet. That is a personal record and gives her the school record in the event. Frierson, who has signed with the University of Louisiana--Lafayette, also finished second in the 3200m to her teammate, Jenna Key. 

DARCY EDGAR (OUACHITA CHRISTIAN)- Scored more points than any other female athlete at the Region 1-1A Meet at OCS on Monday. She won the 300m hurdles with a time of 50.71. She finished second in the high jump (4-10) and pole vault (9-0). She also ran a leg on OCS's runner-up 4x400 (4:19.17). The OCS girls team scored 111 points, 26 more than runner-up St. Frederick. 

STELLA JUNIUS (MT. CARMEL)- Junius won both the 1600m (5:23.33) and the 3200m (1:55.82) at the District 9-5A Meet last week. Junius's wins helped MCA win the District 9-5A Championship. 

JAYCIE WALLACE (AIRLINE) - For only the second time in school history and the first time since 2008, the Lady Vikings were the District 1-5A champions. Wallace was a big reason why. Wallace won the 100m with a time of 12.23. She was also second in the 200m (25.98). Wallace ran legs on both of Airline's district championship 4x100m (48.43) and 4x200m (1:44.99) teams. 

LAILA JOHNSON (EDNA KARR)- Johnson was first in the 200m (25.60) and 300m hurdles (46.73) at the District 9-5A meet. She also ran a leg on Edna Karr's winning 4x200 team (1:45.58). 

JAYLA MASON (LAKE CHARLES COLLEGE PREP)- Won the 100m at the District 3-3A Meet with a personal record time of 12.02. She was also the district champion in the 400m (57.52). Mason finished second in the 200m (24.92).
