De'Aria Smith, Miami Killian Girls, STA's Allers Showcase Speed At Carl Lewis Invitational

Another weekend and another meet in Texas for De'Aria Smith and her Miami Killian teammates as they headed to Houston for the Carl Lewis Invitational. Smith was joined by fellow South Florida speedster Zahria Allers of St. Thomas Aquinas on the trip. Allers, finished third in the 60m dash with a time of 7.82s with Smith right behind her in 4th at 7.86.

The duo wasn't done. Smith and Allers went 1-2 to show the Lonestar State we weren't going to come by and not take home some hardware.  Smith crossed the line of 25.55 and told our Texas MileSplit team that she came down to Houston for a reason and accomplished what she set out to do.
Allers ran a US#10 time of 24.71 last week at Texas A&M and followed that up with a mark of 25.66 this weekend.  She said the race last weekend was a little easier, because of the banked track. However, it was only her second indoor meet ever and she couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Smith teamed up with Darnisha McGuire, Zakharia Frett, and M'kynzi Sanders as the Killian girls won the 4x200m relay in 1:44.09.

Their time was the 16th fastest in the country this indoor season.
