XC Is Heating Up In Pennsylvania After Week 3

BOYS RECAP

The Elk County Catholic boys continue to prove they will be a force to be reckon with once again in Class A this season. The ECC boys rolled to the win at the Bradford Invitational, scoring just 31 points to defeat the hosts Bradford Area, which scored 51 points for second. Smethport Area was third with 61 points.

Up front, ECC's Ben Hoffman posted another strong performance, taking the win in 16:49. He was seventh a year ago at Bradford. Smethport's Darion Gregory ran well to take second in 16:58. Bradford's Logan Caruso ran 17:06 to take third, while ECC's Isaac Wortman (17:18) was fourth and Coudersport's Tristan Amell (17:19) was fifth.

GIRLS RECAP

Saint Marys Area's Amanda Foster continued her winning ways in the girls race. The senior, who won two weeks ago at McDowell, dominated the field at Bradford to win by 40 seconds. She proving that she'll be one to watch on the state scene out of District 9.

Karns City's Rebecca Pennington was second in 20:22, followed closely by Jules Jones of Cowanesque Valley in third (20:23). ECC's Chelsea Hunt took fourth in 20:31 and Northern Potter's Danielle Perry and Amanda Ford took the next two spots.

Saint Marys Area took the team win with 27 points. Titusville took second with 46 points.
