Just how good is Sydney McLaughlin? The sixteen-year-old from Union Catholic High School in New Jersey broke the national high school record in the 400m hurdles two weeks ago: 54.46. That time ranks No. 4 in the U.S. and No. 5 internationally this year. McLaughlin, the younger sister of NCAA star Taylor, is no slouch in the flat 400m either, as she set the national high school record for the indoor 400m at 51.84 in March. She's undefeated and looks to have a lot of upside heading into these championships; expect to see something special vs. professional competition.
