No. 9 Ella Donaghu of Grant High School clocks her second sub-17 minute 5k of the season with a 16:59.6 victory on the Sandelie Golf Course in Wilsonville, Ore.
Freshman standout Ember Stratton of No. 4 ranked Sunset (OR) led her squad to a dominant 34-point victory with her 17:18 runner-up finish. All five scorers for Sunset placed within the top 13 overall with an impressive 1:29 top five spread and 17:55 average. Audrey Huelskamp (4th, 17:50.8) and Jill Makin (6th, 17:56) helped nip the Sunset average just under 18 minutes.
There was another top frosh in third place, as Elizabeth Rinck ran 17:43 to lead Jesuit to runner-up team honors (63 points).
Ahmed Muhumed of West Salem scored a breakthrough personal best with his 14:56.8 victory over the 5k course. The junior, a native of Ethiopia, edged Roman Ollar of West Linn who ran 15:01 for second.
