Berkeley Springs Sweeps Small Schools Title At Brunswick Invite


The Berkeley Springs boys and girls cross country team traveled to the Brunswick Invitational in Maryland this past weekend and both walked away as small schools division team champions.

The boys squad from Berkeley Springs had two of the top three finishers among small schools with Steven Shelter in second place at 16:54 and Logan Heironimus in third place at 17:21. Averaging 18:04 on the 3 mile course at Brunswick High School and tallying 42 points to put them 29 points ahead of the runner-up squad South Carroll from Maryland.

Putting 5 girls among the top 12 places, the Berkeley Springs compiled a team score of 39 points to win the small school girls title. Both sophomores Stephanie Golden (3rd, 20:03) and Amanda Lupton (6th, 20:51) were able to break 21 minutes as the team's top two finishers.
