A senior at Hurricane, Dent did all the pacing work ahead of a pair of Mountain State runners in teammate Abbie Short and Capital’s Peyton Panger in the 1,600-meter run. After about five trips around the 200-meter oval inside the Dyson Baudo Recreation Center, Dent pulled away, crossing the line first in 5 minutes, 15.91 seconds.

Panger was next in 5:26.69, with Short third in 5:40.68.

For the boys, Chandler Hamilton of Parkersburg was third in the 55 dash, running 6.80 in the final after clocking a 6.85 in the prelims.
